Yann Durrmann lives in the village of Andlau in the Bas-Rhin department of Alsace. His parents decided to become full time winemakers after the previous generation had explored viticulture as a hobby. They managed to acquire amazing plots on the steep slopes of the Vosges mountains that were not in high demand as farmers looked for sites that could be easily accessed with machines. Since 1998, the vineyards have been farmed organically and in 2007, Yann began to take over the running of the domaine and decided that wines should be produced without sulphur additions, something his parents were very open minded about. The Durrmann cuvées are now in high demand, always recognised for their ability to show honest and pure expressions of Alsace terroir along with their great value.
