Armand Heitz is a wine producer in Chassagne-Montrachet. Environmental sustainability is the basic principle of Armand’s philosophy. He has taken the decision to introduce viticulture on the estate based on the principles of agroecology and permaculture. Armand’s objective is to create a harmonious and sustainable ecosystem. As the terroir is not limited to the vines alone, the choice to diversify his activities and to have an open agriculture was an obvious one.

About the Producer
The estate places terroir expression at the centre of its philosophy — producing wines that reflect the distinct soils and microclimates of Burgundy rather than winemaking “style” alone. Armand focuses on letting site and variety speak through the glass. Although certification isn’t the primary aim, the vineyards have been converted to organic and biodynamic farming under Armand’s leadership. This includes working with soil health, biodiversity and reduced intervention to support natural balance in the vines.
