Created in 1999, the Domaine Cosse Maisonneuve is the result of the association of two talented oenologists and winemakers: Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve.
Matthieu Cosse and Catherine Maisonneuve are leading a renaissance of the Cahors region. They share a vision of refined, elegant wines with a distinct personality. The grapes used for this wine comes from the base of the parcel just across from the domaine with a north-facing exposure, meaning it has more shade and grapes take longer to ripen. The 28 year-old vines grow on the Calcareous gravel at the bottom of the hill, an area with more dense clay than higher on the slope.
