This story begins in 2001 with 1.50 hectares of vines in lease on the Crozes-Hermitage appellation located south of Tain l’Hermitage which he inherited from his father-in-law. The estate grows every year to reach today in Crozes-Hermitage 16 hectares on the communes of La Roche de Glun, Pont de l’Isère and Mercurol (including 0.25 hectares in Crozes-Hermitage blanc).
Emmanuel is a young, enthusiastic grower in Crozes Hermitage and is married to the daughter of the great Bernard Faurie. His family grew fruit and grapes which it sold to the cooperative in Tain l’Hermitage so Emmanuel is the first in his family to make wine.
Since 2010, the estate has been enriched with another appellation “Saint-Joseph” on an area of 1.70 hectares (including 0.20 hectares in white Saint Joseph). Facing south-east in the commune of Tournon/Rhône, this terroir is located on the place called “la Dardouille” meaning “the sun that darts = the sun that beats down”.
Finally, in January 2021, the estate was able to take over the Hermitage vines of Bernard Faurie on a lease covering an area of 1.5 hectares (including 0.20 hectares in Hermitage Blanc), on the soils of Bessards and Greffieux.
The estate has been certified organic since the 2023 vintage in Crozes-Hermitage and Saint Joseph and 2024 in Hermitage.
