Kamil Barczentweicz is making some stunning wines from central southeast Poland. He’s planted 11.5 hectares in stages, beginning in 2017, on soils that have some limestone. From 2024 he’s certified organic, and all the wines are wild fermented.

Nose Vivid bouquet of wild forest berries, crushed violets, and a whisper of black pepper, immediately evoking the cool-climate elegance of its Polish terroir

Palate Strikes a graceful balance between vibrant acidity and fine-grained tannins, delivering layers of sour cherry, plum skin, and subtle earthy undertones reminiscent of damp limestone and forest floor

Vinification Grapes harvested from the southwest-facing slope (130-180 m above sea level) with limestone bedrock. Fermentation with native yeast in open oak vats. The wine aged for eleven months in used French, Slavonian, and Hungarian oak barrels. After blending, it rested for six months in a stainless-steel tank
