Vigneti Tardis is a collaboration between sommelier and owner of Leroy in Shoreditch, Jack Lewens, and his long-time friend Bruno di Conciliis of Viticoltori di Conciliis in Cilento, Campania.
The wines are made organically and biodynamically from their own 3.6ha of vineyards in Cilento and the total annual production of the estate is 25,000 bottles. They use only indigenous grape varieties, Aglianico and the long forgotten Aglianicone for the reds and Fiano and other aromatic varieties like Malvasia for the whites. They farm organically and biodynamically and the wines are made with minimal intervention and very low sulphur additions. This isn’t what you’d usually get from Aglianico, the workhorse grape of this southerly part of Italy. It’s full of vibrant, crunchy red fruit and very aromatic and fresh. The tannins are deliberately kept low to make it superbly guggable especially if served slightly chilled. Pairs well with grilled meats and comfort food.
