A brief introduction to georgian wines

Georgian wine, renowned for its ancient traditions and unique winemaking methods, is characterized by its skin-contact white wines, or "orange wine," fermented and aged in large clay vessels called "qvevri". Georgia is considered one of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world, with evidence of wine production dating back 8,000 years. Kakheti, Kartli, and Imereti are gaining international recognition for their unique and high-quality wines.

Georgia has numerous indigenous grape varieties, including Saperavi (red) and Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, and Kisi (white).
