  • The Hirsch Vineyards Bohan-Dillon Pinot Noir is produced using the same winemaking methods and with the same attention to detail as our other Pinots, thereby ensuring a wine of great quality, traditional varietal character, and sense of place.
  • In a property that stretches over 2,500 hectares, we have chosen to select and plant vineyards exclusively on the most suitable lands, covering just a small area of the total surface. An area that is unique in terms of soil type, microclimate, and exposure that deserves its own appellation: DOC Bolgheri Sassicaia.
  • The vines of Château Smith Haut Lafitte are planted in a single block on a Günz gravel plateau in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, producing six different wines. Château Smith Haut Lafitte, a Graves Great Growth in both red and white, and our two second wines Les Hauts de Smith and Le Petit Haut Lafitte, also in red and white. Each has its own unique blend and distinctive aromatic profile.
  • Designated a Fifth Growth in the 1855 Classification, Pontet-Canet has exceeded that classification for many years now and is considered one of the top wines of Bordeaux. Of the 120 hectares (300 acres) With 200 acres under vine, the estate of Pontet-Canet is located in the northern end of the Pauillac commune, across the road from first growth Chateau Mouton Rothschild. The soil composition is mainly gravel over a subsoil of clay and limestone. A wine of real class, pedigree and distinction, the 2012 Pontet-Canet is absolutely gorgeous. The flavours are beautifully nuanced and delineated throughout. The 2012 is decidedly understated next to some other recent vintages, but the magic of this site simply won't be denied.
  • Enthusiastic Emmanuel produces polished, generous wines at his winery in La Roche de Glun, sitting on a peninsular which cleaves the Rhône river. His focus is displaying individual expressions of each parcel. They are picked and vinified separately before being placed in wooden casks, vats or larger demi-muids to continue their élevage
  • There is a simple and honest feeling in the wine and spirit of Gerhard Pittnauer which hails from his generosity and humility. Given the reins of his vineyard in the mid-1980’s after the unexpected death of his father, Gerhard, then 18 years old, had to train himself to make wine in the midst of scandal and chaos in the Austrian wine market. He chose to become a student of the broader wine world, and, in realizing the exceptionality of the land he farmed and of the indigenous grapes of the region, allowed himself to experiment with some missteps until he found his thesis. He set forth to ‘grow’ wine rather than to ‘make’ it in the cellar, from the autochtone varietals. He did so without any viticultural doctrine until he found that there was a consistent, common thread in the wines he loved to drink from France and elsewhere. If, he thought, these wines were amazing because of biodynamics, then he must do the same to achieve the pinnacle in his own wine. So he tends 15 hectares, half of which he owns and half of which he rents, alongside his wife Brigitte to create what they call living wines. All work is done manually from composting to pruning. There is no calendar that drives them. Nothing is rushed: they believe in quality over speed. They taste for perfect ripeness, select the cleanest grapes, and begin the wine in the cellar in response to the conditions of the vintage. They do incorporate a bit of modern technology: a pneumatic press, temperature-controlled steel tanks and pumps, all to ensure the purity and freshness of the fruit remains. They are making wines that excite them with the unique voice of the varietal and the deep limestone soils of the terroir speaking clearly. Gerhard and Brigitte are aware of the evolution of their tastes as well as the vineyard’s. They are students presenting the current findings. Not with proud declaration, but with excited experimental energy to get the best of what they have. So far, it is delicious research.

  • Pure, energetic and highly refined, Domaine Huet Vouvray Le Haut Lieu Sec is a fabulous Vouvray that any chenin lover should try. • Sylvain Pataille is perhaps secretly one of the most important figures in Burgundy today. Beyond being a leader in organic and biodynamic viticulture, he is also a consulting oenologist for some of the most famed domaines in the region. Sylvain grew up around wine, though his family didn’t own any vines. His father was a bus driver, who spent the free time in his afternoons helping his vigneron friend Jean Fournier. Sylvain and his brother Laurent would meet their father in the Fournier vines after school, forming an attachment to the life of a vine farmer. His paternal great uncle also owned a domaine in the Médoc that the Patailles visited every summer. Sylvain knew from an early age that winemaking would be his career and he attended winemaking school in Beaune to make that dream come true. Right before graduating he was hired by a local lab as a salesperson, where he admittedly was very bad at sales. He quickly left to start his own domaine in the village of Marsannay, at the northern edge of the Côte de Nuits, while consulting on the side from contacts made during his sales days. Starting with just 1 hectare in 1999, he slowly grew his domaine to its current size of 15ha. Sylvain’s older brother Laurent, a trained oenologist himself, eventually joined the domaine in 2008, becoming Sylvain’s right hand. The domaine consists of vines across Marsannay, with a large portion planted to Aligoté, to go along with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Sylvain is a leading proponent of the potential of Aligoté to make world-class wines, making more than 5 different cuvées from different single sites. In the vines, he practices very low yields, ploughs by horse, and works biodynamically, earning him the reputation as one of the finest farmers in the Côte d’Or. Their typicity is that of the Côte de Nuits, and their style resemble that of their neighbouring appellations Fixin and Gevrey-Chambertin.
  • Daniel Wagner is one of the growing number of young German winemakers who are making wines of the highest quality in an area which has been overlooked for decades. He has an outstanding site in Siefersheim in the pure, weathered porphyry of the Hollberg and Heerkretz vineyards – which qualify as Grosses Gewaches or Grand Cru in the VDP classification. The estate is considered to be the leading estate in ‘volcanic’ Rheinhessen. Spätburgunder is the German name for the Burgundy grape Pinot Noir. In Wagner Stempel's organic interpretation Daniel Wagner expresses the place and time.
  • Founded in 2005, Envinate (translating as “wine yourself”) is a project between four forward-looking enology students - Roberto Santana, Alfonso Torrente, Laura Ramos, and José Martínez. They encapsulate well the new approach to winemaking taking hold in Spain which is pro Envinate are making these honest and exciting wines in four areas of Spain currently – Tenerife, Ribeira Sacra Castilla la Mancha, and Extremadura. In making these authentic wines there are a number of rules in their approach to viticulture/vinification. No chemicals are used in any of their wines, fruit is picked by hand, grapes are foot trodden, and fermentation is conducted using native yeasts from the locale. To achieve the transparency and sense of place (terroir) wines are raised in neutral oak and concrete. Sulphur is only used when absolutely necessary at the bottling stage. Albahra hails from the eastern end of La Mancha, close to Albercete. Pair with grilled vegetables, tomato based pasta dishes, or simply enjoy on its own.
  • The vineyards cover an area of 8.5 ha, less than 2 km from the famous Pomerol plateau. Its sandy-gravelly soil from ancient alluvium contains more or less high proportions of clay according to the plots. At the confluence of Isle and Dordogne, the vineyards of Lalande de Pomerol benefit from the oceanic influence. The preponderance of watercourses, as well as the influence of the tides in these rivers has shaped a unique microclimate conducive to viticulture. Pair it with cold meats, red meats, grills and cheeses
  • The 2023 vintage of “Raisins Gaulois” is as lively as any Lapierre has ever produced. It’s raised sulfur-free for just two months in cuve, which seems like barely enough time for fruit juice to become a wine– but that’s the whole point! Pure Gamay bottled unfiltered with a convenient screw cap and iconic label to boot.

  • Christophe Pacalet is a micro-negociant that vinifies a plethora of different Beaujolais appellations at his winery in Cercié, just outside of Villié-Morgon. After studying biology and chemistry and spending 9 years as a cook in Lyon and the Caribbean, Pacalet chose to settle down and make wine in his home region, the Beaujolais. He had already picked up the basics of the craft helping his uncle (the late Morgon maestro Marcel Lapierre) in the cellar, and in 1999 this same uncle helped Christophe set up his own winery
  • Founded in 1986, Eric Dhondt and Edith Grellet decided to stop selling off grapes to negociants and started Dhondt-Grellet and focusing on biodynamic farming has translated into vivid champagnes from great parcels across the Côte des Blancs. The domaine is 6ha of Grand Cru and 1er Cru vines, with an average age of 40 years.

Starting with two hectares, the domaine has now tripled in size and starting gaining real attention when Adrien took over winemaking in 2012 at age 22. Today, joined by his sister Alice, he has slowly increased the range of Champagnes produced by isolating their holdings across the villages of Cramant and Cuis and bottling pure expressions of Chardonnay. Most recently, he launched a small negociant project to satisfy his curiosity outside of his own domaine’s style.

Inspired by the great white winemakers of Burgundy, Adrien is taking his family’s wines to another level, focusing on chardonnay and terroir. The quality of Adrien’s cuvées was recognized when he was voted Winemaker of the Year 2017 in the Trophées Champenois.

  • Szászi has one of the first organic certified vineyards in Hungary. The St. George's Hill is their top single vineyard dedicated to Olaszrizling aka. Welschriesling. Contrary to the name it has no genetical connection to the Rhein Valley Riesling.  Olaszrizling is a neutral variety meaning that it is a good reflector of the basalt terroir. Its aromas are most commonly characterised by almond blossom and hazelnut. Olaszrizling wines are a real representation of the Lake Balaton feeling, as the variety can be found in almost every cellar on the north shore. Olaszrizling made in a really light, fresh neutral style is one of the great summer classics. This style of light Olaszrizling is the perfect accompaniment for summer barbecues and light salad or vegetable dishes. Olaszrizling can also demonstrate a more serious side with the right attention in the vineyards and winery. In this case, its flavours are accompanied by an oily, dense texture, greater depth and often a more mineral character. These premium Olaszrizlings are real foodie wines and also benefit from a few years of bottle age.

  • Toro was one of the great discoveries on our trips in the search for vineyards. In 2005 we found ourselves among the largest number of centenary and pre-phylloxera vineyards we had ever seen, with sandy soils perfect for the vine and an ideal continental climate to prevent the onset of diseases. All these conditions have led to the maintenance of ancestral viticulture, based on respect for natural rhythms. But, without a doubt, the most unique thing we found in Toro were its wine growers, men and women with an emotional attachment to the land, to which they have dedicated effort, wisdom, respect and sacrifice for generations. That is why they are the face of the wines of Bodega Matsu, a Japanese word that means “wait” and conveys the philosophy of this project. Wait for nature to take its course, for the vineyards to turn 100, wait for the perfect moment to open a bottle of wine. With El Pícaro, El Recio, El Viejo and La Jefa our aim was to elaborate wines that retain the traditional power of the Toro vineyards, but combine it with the freshness and elegance that characterizes all our wines.
  • Matsu represents a journey through time, through several generations dedicated to life on the land. Youth, maturity and old age. Four wines originating in the D.O. Toro needing more than one hundred years for their elaboration with the grape from centenary vineyards, the wisdom inherited from generations of winemakers who continue to grow the vines in an artisan way using the most ancestral techniques. El Pícaro, El Recio, El Viejo and La Jefa personify the essence of Matsu, their individual relationship with the land in accordance with their age and their life stage. They are the tribute to hundreds of men and women who have dedicated their lives to the vineyard in this region. The result is four modern and sophisticated wines, capable of displaying soft, discreet elegance without losing the power that characterizes Toro wines.

  • The vineyard is situated alongside the Mosel river opposite of Mülheim and faces due south. The name refers to the Devonian slate stone there has rich ferruginous minerals that adds earthy notes to the flavour. The vineyard designation “Juffer” (medieval German: ‘Virgin Lady’) is a reminder of the nearby Convent that used to own large parts in that steep vineyard site. In Burgundian terms the Juffer is seen as a ‘Premier Cru’.
  • Founded in 1967 by Jacques Seysses, who transforms a newly acquired property into the Dujac domaine, it is now run together with his sons Jeremy, winemaker, and Alec. The property has 17.30 hectares of which a small part cultivated with chardonnay for an average production of less than 80,000 bottles. Jacques and his son Jeremy (whose wife Diana winemaker works in the domaine) are faithful to a very marked pinot noir through the vinification of whole grapes: the wine obtained rarely has a great color, but after a long aging (even beyond the thirty ' years) tertiary aromas do justice to this winemaking. Dujac style is the search for elegance and finesse with integrated and soft tannins always with balance, harmony, length and complexity. At the base the work in the vineyard, serious and rigorous, where the experience and knowledge of technology can help in the small imperfections of the vintage, but without any tampering. The brothers Alec and Jeremy, continuing in their father's work, are today considered among the best interpreters of the Pinot Noir of the Côte de Nuits and the Domaine Dujac can be fully confirmed as one of the most important Burgundy producers. In 2019 Morey has had another very successful vintage, receiving more rainfall in August than anywhere else on the Côte. The limestone subsoil also seems to give the wines a little more bite. The fruit is perfumed, with the classic Morey blueberry touches. The wine has good concentration and an energetic finish.
  • This domain has one of the best terroirs in Châteauneuf-du-Pape with its abundance of rounded quartzite stones from the Villafranchian period. These stones absorb heat during the day then radiate it at night, promoting full grape maturity. Yielding just 30 hectolitres per hectare, the vines are carefully managed throughout the year. The grapes are hand-harvested, once each variety has reached full maturity, which is based on tastings undertaken by an expert panel. The vineyard is farmed sustainably according to the principles of la lutte raisonnée.

  • "I don’t think there is a better description for this wine than vin de soif. A wine that really does make you thirsty for the next sip! (The next glass!) It has the quiet charcuterie-like meatiness of Cinsault on the nose along with woodsy florals and tomato vine. It tastes of bramble berries picked from late-summer hedgerows, warm from the sun but with the leafiness and fragrant earthiness of footpaths and damp grassy banks and wild herbs. So mouth-watering and so gentle." Tamlyn Currin, Jancis Robinson.com

Cool climate, volcanic soils give rise to the fresh, spicy, ripe yet vibrant fruits with a touch of leafiness from firm but well integrated, round tannins. Gergo Bojt is a revolutionary young producer in the northern Hungarian wine region, Eger. A town full of history and rich culture in winemaking. His four legged companion, Buddy, always follows him around the vineyard. They form a great team with a sense of playfulness showing through the wines, too. The 1552 Siege of Eger became an emblem of Hungarian heroism when the castle was successfully defended against the united forces of the two greatest Ottoman troops. When accounted for the defeat of their 20-fold army, the Ottoman leaders claimed the Hungarians - including women - fought with such an unparalleled courage they must have had drank the bull’s blood. This gave the name to the region’s emblematic red blend, Egri Bikavér (bull’s blood of Eger). Therefore every bottle is embossed with “1552 Eger".
